This book was amazing and so naughty! Its enemies to lovers, teaching and slow burn all mixed up in one.
James is the Duke of Ashford and lives in the family home Sterling estate it’s an historic home so anything that needs doing to it needs to go through a mile of red tape. The roof is collapsing and he needs to start work immediately to stop more drama. So, the historic society send someone out to oversee things and make sure history isn’t being erased. However, James doesn’t expect to find his old school yard nemesis at his front door.
Florence went to prep school with James and tried to be friendly to him, but he was awful to her. Someone copied her journal and posted it all over the school she assumed because it was the pages about James that it was him. They then both went to Oxford together. Her assignment is bittersweet the historian in her is dying to see inside Sterling Estate but the schoolgirl doesn’t want to meet her bully again.
Florence has just broken up with her boyfriend of 10 years who put a lot of pressure on her to be the perfect girlfriend especially in the bedroom. She has some hang ups and wants to try being submissive, so she doesn’t have to thinks and just needs to find the right sort of Dom……….Oh guess who is a secret pleasure Dom!
These two use chess and Latin as foreplay and phew its hot! James teaches Florence how to get out of her head and turn off the constant thinking and Florence makes James re-evaluate all that he has known about relationships and love.
