Catching Feelings – Amy Mcgavin

This husband-and-wife team have smashed it out of the park! Talk about saving the best to last!!! What am I supposed to do with my life now??

This book is so freaking good!! I have felt sorry for Douglas from the beginning of this series two crazy twins that he is raising all on his own while his ‘wife’ is off living her best life! Douglas is a fisherman (hmmm rugged gorgeousness wrapped up in a Scottish parcel) and is just getting through each day at a time!

Ellie is the towns librarian and has had a thing for Douglas for ages. She knows how messy his life is but that doesn’t stop her feelings. She wants a partner and someone to do life with. She looks after her mother who is ill and whose life has been reduced to her home and church on Sunday’s.

Douglas comes to Ellie’s rescue when she gets stranded in a boat cause he can’t take a hint and ask her out like a normal human. Douglas is sick of aways putting himself last not that he doesn’t love his kids, but it would be nice to have someone else in his corner. He tries to get hold of his galivanting ‘wife’ to start the divorce process. Ellie and Douglas finally get together and decide to go away for the weekend to Bannock (YAY you get to visit some of the Highland fling crew) to have some time away from the gossips in their small town and to get to know each other better with out distractions. They both decide that they want to give this thing between them a go. But when they get back guess who has finally turned back up in town!

Leah has strolled back into Douglas’s house like she hasn’t been MIA for most of the twins’ lives leaving everything to Douglas to deal with. She tries to stir trouble but oh man Ellie the wallflower comes out swinging! She stands up to Leah and its awesome she calmly explains to Leah that she is no longer going to mess Douglas around. Leah is a nasty piece of work and doesn’t want to give up her safety net without a fight. I wish i could be that bad ass and eloquent when I’m angry!
