You know those books that you start reading and think yep this is going to rip my heart out and even though you know it’s going to hurt you just can’t stop reading? Yeah, this is one of those!
It’s the last of the bunkhouse series and I’m a bit sad that it’s coming to an end but oh man what an ending!
Hattie and Heston have history and it’s messy. It’s been 2 years since these two were a thing and Hattie has moved on…. or has she? Her wedding invite turns up at the bunkhouse and despite the crew’s best-efforts Heston gets his hands on it.
Heston has never stopped loving Hattie and has been building their future even if he never gets to be a part of it and now, he thinks the end is nigh. Hattie’s fiancé is an absolute piece of work, and I was so pleased that Hattie reached out to people and actually told them what he was up to so that she had people in her corner. Its drives me mental when stuff is going on and people think they can just handle it all by themselves.
There is no third act break up in this book, and I adored this, but the third act drama is heartbreaking! this is the part I was waiting for when I first started reading and knew this was going to be a rip your heart out book. But I didn’t expect the drama to be centred where it was!
Seriously this whole series has been a wild ride, and I highly recommend getting your hands on all these books! I do also recommend that you do read them all. The side characters are all introduced but their stories are all really really good. To the point where I think I’m going to go back for a reread!
