Six stars, all the stars. This book is for the people-pleasers. Steffanie gets me on a deep personal level, and I’ve never felt so seen before…. Yeah, I’ll leave you to figure out what that’s all about!

Ok on my spooky season reading series this book is goooood it has vampires and mystery and a bit of spice.

Komal is back in Argleton after flying for the RAF and is looking after her parents (her dad has cancer and had to pull out of the mayoral race), getting set up for a good arranged marriage by her parents, dealing with her sister who can’t seem to function without her, looking after her nephews cause her sister thinks it’s her job as aunty, she is on the council so she is coming up with ideas for council events while trying to get the tourists back to the village and helping all her friends cause she is Madam MacGyver and there is nothing she can’t fix, and OMG I need a lie down just typing all of this! Her nemesis on the council is the acting mayor Augustin Durant who is a stickler for the rules and like to shoot down Komal’s ideas and remind her of the rules oh he is also a vampire and has a secret!

The vampire council is coming to Argleton to make a decision on if vampires can marry humans and Augustin wants the visit to go off without a hitch. Unfortunately for him people pleaser Komal has just thrown her hat into the ring to be Mayor to hopefully keep her dad happy. These two are thrown together and must keep the vampire council happy while also trying not to catch the feels for each other. Komal discovers Augustin’s secret and has another thing to add to her list to fix.

This was a really good read it’s got that whole cozy small-town vibe but it’s definitely not cozy and when these two finally get together the plant daddy kink is unlocked and there even is some spicy times with vines!!

Steffanie was my RH gateway and she seriously blew my tiny little mind her books are so good and have the best story lines!
