This is book 1 in the True Scotsman series and will make you want to pack your bags and move to Scotland (or maybe that was just me!)
Emily is a wedding planner who gets left at the altar. She flees to the Scottish Highlands to Bannock the small town she visited with her dad as a child. She stays at the local hotel that’s currently being run by 3 brothers. Alasdair (Ally) is the grumpy older brother who has had to put his dreams on hold following the death of their parents and try to run the hotel while helping his sister through school.
Emily and Ally have a past which is a super cute part of the story, so I won’t ruin it! She thinks he’s a grump and he thinks she is a stuck-up city girl. Their banter is fantastic and there is a scene at the castle ruins that lives rent free in my mind! You get to meet all the quirky inhabitants of the small town of Bannock and who doesn’t love a Scottish accent!!
The whole True Scotsman series is so worth it. Amy McGavin are a husband and wife writing team who write such heartwarming stories. I am hanging out for The Highland Bad Boy when it releases next month.
