I’m not usually a fan of the single mum trope but this one is pretty good!
Maverick turns up in the last book The Roommate Rules (but you should know this already cause I’ve told you to read it!), He has come to town with the sole purpose to track down his dead-beat dad who has been off living his life while his mum literally worked herself to death. Considering he is looking for Stan Steele his first stop is going to be the bar One night Stans………
Except he doesnt find Stan he finds Rowan. Bad ass, tattooed, single mum of 3 boys and the first person he has found intersting in a long long time. Mavrick has a past that has included a prision stint. He doesnt want to be in town long and usually goes where the wind or his bike take him. But him and Rowan are stragers when they meet so they have a very steamy night on the bar (no not in…..you get my drift)
The Steele brothers close ranks when they meet Maverick for the first time and refuse to give him any information. This also puts Rowan in a VERY akward position her best friend is Declan Steele and she is pretty much an honarary Steele. She cant say she has had a steamy night with the Anti-hero and she also cant say that the Anti-hero who has inserted himself in the towns garage and is actually fixing cars properly including her is currently living in her attic!
Of course, Rowan has more walls than China and an amour that is so heavy protected there is no hope for anyone getting through, but Maverick is a patient man he quietly fixes all the little things around the house usually brought to him by Rowan’s 3 kids. The bond he builds with the kids is so sweet and how they just sort of accept that he will be there and be a steady presence in their life. There is no third act break up which is so appreciated but they drama that does happen will break your heart a little!
