I’m starting my cozy fall girl era in the complete wrong hemisphere! and with a STRONG dislike of anything pumpkin spiced (also in NZ we don’t have pumpkin pie). But for my Northern Hemisphere friends ill happily take one for the team and read as many fall books as I can get my little hands on while dreaming of one day celebrating the most magical time of the year Halloween in its proper fall setting!
I adore Angela Casella and this book is an absolute gem. Also, it inspired me to eat a lot of pasta and try find some Italian men to call me Cara mia!
Bianca is a rest home nurse and has just called off her engagement and so is living in her childhood home with her Nonna Rose. She makes a wish for a bit more excitement from Apple ridges wishing spot and boy does it deliver! In the form of her twin brothers’ best friend Giovanni
Giovanni has come to Apple ridge with his Nonna who wants to make amends with Nonna Rose over an apple fight that happened years ago. The two Nonna’s pick up like nothing has ever happened but oh my Giovanni has aged like fine wine, and Bianca is having a hard time remembering the poxy little boy who was her first kiss.
Giovanni is hiding after being doxxed from his secret identity on the internet as the shirtless chef. He also struggles with his self-worth after his horrible ex told him he was just a good time not a long time. Of course, she changes her tune when she finds out that Gio is actually semi famous!
Bianca is awesome she knows who she is she knows what she wants in life and doesn’t want to throw it all away on some guy. She is honest with Gio and even though they start their relationship as a fake dating scenario she doesn’t try to control him or make him feel less than.
This was the perfect series starter and I LOVE it when an author throws in little easter eggs to other books. Bianca also had a brief scene in one of the other books which was so well done!
