Elizabeth is one of my top cowboy dealers! Girl can write an epic story and this one oh man this one might just be up there as one of my favourites!
It’s a little bit different it’s got suspense, mystery and cowboys who used to be special forces. Its GREAT! I’ll admit when I started this I had just DNF’d another book and thought I was going to struggle through this one but OMG it’s a stunner! There is a surprise trope at chapter 23 I DID NOT SEE COMING and may have gasped out loud when I hit it!
Lennon is a cam girl and has to get out of dodge when her “boyfriend” is locked up for fraud. She has been the only one in her corner for all of her life, so she is used to having to pick up her life and reinvent herself. She gets a flyer about Mercy River ranch and decides that’s the perfect place to lay low, she can have the spa treatments promised and just relax her days away…….
Jeremiah is one of the owners of Mercy River and is ex special forces. He grew up in a cult which makes for some interesting stories in his past. He is a gorgeous moustached cowboy (I’m sensing a vibe through my latest reads) who can’t quite work out what Lennon is doing at the ranch that caters to ex-military and first responders. He soon learns the truth about Lennon’s past. And the stalker that has lured her to Mercy River and is sending her postcards telling her off for her life choices.
I loved this whole element I LOVE suspense books and trying to solve the clues and work out who it is. This book had me believing it was about 3 different people and of course none of them where correct.
Jeremiah and Lennon are instantly attracted to each other. Jeremiah feels things with Lennon that he has never felt before and Lennon is trying to find her way in her new normal while fighting no feeling good enough for Jeremiah’s affections. The karaoke scene had me cracking up so hard!
