The Hookup Situation – Lyra Parish

This book is the BEST Lyra Parish book I’ve ever read! I love this book! I don’t actually have words for how much I adored this book (I’m going to give it a try). We go back to Cozy Creek and the fall vibes in this book are vibing. I would suggest reading Fall I Want to get more of the Cozy Creek vibe. Halfway through this I was downloading Fall I want to read after this. But you don’t have to.

Nick Banks has made appearances in the other books in the Billionaire situation series and I’m so happy he has finally gotten his own story. He is just going through the motions of life and is still coming to terms with his sisters passing. It comes to a head in the middle of a client meeting, and his brother Asher (The Boss Situation) puts him on leave for 6 weeks. Nick has the world at his feet but decides to go to Cozy Creek. He also wants to work on mending his relationship with his best friend Zane (Fall I want). He was in Cozy Creek a year ago and ran into Julie at the bar one night.

Julie is working in the local coffee shop and finds out her ex (that broke up with her and immediately got engaged to someone else) is back in town. He turns up in the coffee shop and demands to talk to her and tries to grab her. Nick steps in and they pretend that Nick is Julie’s boyfriend to get him to leave. Then they decide that for the 6 weeks Nick is in town to fake date so he will get the message and leave Julie alone.

Julie’s ex Craig (I don’t even want to write his name I detest him so much) is a controlling weasel of a man. Who can’t take a hint. He is absolutely disgusting to Julie and tries to ruin her reputation in the most disgusting way! This story line was so well written. It made me feel so bad for Julie and kept me on the edge of my seat.

Nick and Julie give their relationship till midnight on Halloween (be still my little dark heart) when they write each other letters to decide if they continue their relationship or just go back to being friends. I seriously held my breath for this scene. Ahhh I love this book so much!

I think I am in the wrong hemisphere……I love Halloween and the fall vibes in this book are perfect. I want to curl up, watch the leaves turn orange and go to Cozy Coffee for a lavender latte while hanging out with the fairy godmothers and carving pumpkins! Currently the days are getting longer and its spring in NZ our Halloween does not feature pumpkins.

Lyra’s writing is so unbelievably good she makes you fall in love with the characters, so you are totally caught up in their story. I want nothing but good things for Nick and Julie. I can’t wait for the next book in the series. I know I will be heartbroken when this series comes to an end.
