High Water – Maggie Rawdon

High Water – Maggie Rawdon

This is the last book in the Quiet Horsemen series (What am I supposed to do with my life now!), and it’s been a minute, so I recommend getting a hold of Westbound and reading chapters 44 – 48 just to remind yourself who Bishop actually is and where he fits in the story. You better have read this whole series and be hanging out for this book like I was!

So, Aspen has moved home with her 15-year-old daughter Fallon after divorcing her husband, Ethan. Ethan is a hockey player, and it’s pretty much been Aspen and Fallon for most of Fallon’s life. This plays out in chapter 48 of Westbound when Aspen walks into the kitchen one night and thinks she is seeing a ghost because Bishop is back and she thought when he left 15 years ago, he was dead.

Turns out Ethan isn’t Fallon’s actual father and Bishop the kid that used to be a ranch hand is. After leaving suddenly he is back and is determined to make things right with Aspen and be a part of his daughter’s life (a daughter he had no idea he had). Bishop’s grandma is leaving the family ranch to a distant cousin unless either Bishop or his brother can prove they have a family. So, Bishop finding out about having a daughter might just change her mind. It sways her a little, but she wants the whole family so Aspen agrees to a fake marriage that is anything but fake from Bishop’s end. There is a lot of my wife in this book, and I am here for it!

Of course, they are still looking for the relics and surprisingly Bishop is the key to locating the last one. This book was mostly about Bishop earning back Aspen’s trust and getting over the fact he was a father but the last 20% when they were searching for the relic it was all on. The smut in this book smuts hard and it was a very steamy read!
