Nothing To Fear – Jenn Plummer

When Jenn Plummer releases a new book, I drop everything that I’m currently reading and dive right in and boy oh boy this one does not disappoint. I am so glad I had the weekend to read this cause it would have tested my smut straight face to its limits! It starts off with a bang and just gets more amazing from there.

Its set in Corvus College a gothic, magic, spooky college with serious Nevermore Academy vibes also any school that has ravens as a mascot appeals to my little black heart. There are hidden rooms and hidden secrets that come to light and 5 houses that host the naughtiest Fright night parties all in the lead up to the most magical time of the year Halloween!

Asher is a top scholarship student and spends most of his time studying. He has always wanted to be a student at Corvus and wants to prove that he deserves his place there. He has everything all planned out and was looking forward to his senior year. He wants nothing more than to work out how to get to the mausoleum in the middle of the school’s graveyard. He is highly intuitive and is super smart.

Silas is a rugby playing jock who is the son of the President of Corvus. He is captain of the rugby team and has brutal trainings to get through as well as doing all his schoolwork. Silas thinks that he needs to be a certain way at school because there are no openly gay students in any of the sports teams and he is terrified of his teammates finding out and ostracising him for it. He has issues with being not good enough or smart enough and has “hated” Asher since freshman year.

Asher is tasked with tutoring Silas by the president of the school and as you can imagine is not happy about that prospect. He sets Sila’s a task to find him for his first tutoring session and is surprised when he actually turns up in the correct place. He comes to realise that there is more to the jock persona that Silas hides behind and phew do these two have some steamy “study” sessions!

This book is MM but like everything Jenn does it’s such a good read. There are twists and turns, and your heat breaks for both Silas and Asher as they navigate their ways through their senior year. I’m not usually a fan of college stories but this one was so good and i loved the spooky Halloween magic that was woven into this!
