I’ve just read the 3rd book in this series, and I totally forgot how good these books are! I read a lot (if you can’t tell) and for a book to surprise me is a rare thing.
I read the first two books in this series back in January and I wrote in my book journal that I loved both of them and then must have forgotten all about them till the latest book came out. So of course, I’ve re-read them all again and yup they are still awesome!
They are centred around a ranch and the 4 guys who live in the bunkhouse Gage, Warren, Tripp and Heston (the 4th book is still being written)
Smoking Gun is the first one this is about Gage and Blythe (Blythe is Warren’s sister). Gage likes the quiet life and keeps to himself until Blythe turns up to stay for the holidays at the Bunk House! Blythe has the world on her shoulders and is studying to be a doctor so she can support her family. She is a complete stress ball and ends up in hospital because of it so she goes home to (insert home) and stays with her brother.
Gage is a mystery hot cowboy and when his past catches up with him it puts everyone, he has come to consider family in harm’s way. There is no third act break up more like a third act action film!
Fire Away this is about Warren and Savannah. Savannah is new in town and is off to an interesting start with her new job as an attorney. She has to call Warren to help her out of a sticky situation after a disastrous first date. Warren is trying to make things up to Savannah after she wrote him off as a douche bag. This is defiantly he falls first and hard trope! Warren’s ex is Savannah’s work mate and is slightly unhinged. This causes some drama later on in the book. Once again, this book doesn’t have a third act breakup more of a third act drama that will leave you on the edge of your seat and reading when you’re supposed to be doing other things like sleeping.
Up in Smoke this is about Tripp and Mesa, your introduced to Mesa in Fire away when she swaps houses with Savannah. Tripp is a cowboy playboy who doesn’t take anything or anyone seriously. His back story will give you a bit of hay fever! Mesa has just sold her app and is looking forward to a summer of freedom, but the owners of the app have other ideas, and she is now on a deadline. She agrees to be friends with Tripp and asks him to teach her how to be a spicy minx. They of course come up with all these rules and then manage to break most of them.
