Ok you have to believe me don’t judge a book by it cover here! I would not have gone near this if it wasn’t recommended to me. The cover reminds me of when i would sneak my grandmas mills and boon!
But this story is one of those ones I wish I could zap my memory like MIB and re-read for the first time!
This is book one in the Aspen Ridge series. Sawyer and Ivy are childhood sweethearts but Ivy’s mum got in her head and she left Aspen ridge to go to culinary school in California.
Sawyer is now the CEO of the Aspen ridge distillery and has never really got his heart back after Ivy ripped it out. He’s not the same person he was.
After walking in on her supposed fiancé railing some bikini barista Ivy loses everything in one afternoon. She needs to get back on her feet so decides to move back to Aspen Ridge to sell her parents’ house.
Sawyer finds out she is back in town and races over to confirm the rumours are true but also make sure Ivy doesn’t run again. That scene is so HOT and Sawyer is all the food groups Hot, rides a motorcycle, Super protective and will go to the ends of the earth for Ivy.
Ivy worries that everyone in her small town is judging her for what she did to Sawyer. she finally gets on board getting back together, they do a lot of soul baring and forgiving each other for the past and remembering that the good times outweigh the bad.
This is such a change from the usual second chance books you can feel how broken Sawyer is over the loss of Ivy and how Ivy has just sort of been surviving and not actually living her life.
Oh, her ex is deranged, and you actually get chapters from his POV so you can see what is going on in his little pea brain as well. I thought that was a cool touch and added to the suspense.
I need Reid’s book, and I am hanging out for that. There are 3 books in this series so far and 2 novellas they are all worth the read.
