Dreaming of a Cowboy Christmas – Ann Einerson

Ahhhh that’s what my Christmases have been lacking a hot, older, sliver fox, brooding cowboy!

This book may have Christmas in the title, but it’s not completely focused on it, and this might also be a yearly read cause it’s so damn cute!

Noelle is a podcaster who after breaking up with her boyfriend decides to book herself and some Xmas toys somewhere warm for the holiday season……..except she gets it wrong and ends up in Pine Haven where a snowstorm is forecasted. She turns up to the cabin she has rented only to find out she has been scammed and it’s not exactly vacant.

Shep our older silver fox cowboy with a soft spot for an adorable highland cow. Comes back to his cabin to find Noelle peeking in his windows he growls at her and then lets her stay cause her convertible is not going to survive going back down the mountain in a snowstorm.

Shep has been burned by a ‘city girl’ before and at 45 has pretty much given up his dreams of having a partner and a family. His ex-fiancée was a piece of work who was obsessed with material things and being the best. He’s convinced that he is fine by himself being a hermit. Except Noelle (25) blows through all those thoughts! Sure, she is from New York, but she grew up in a small town and misses it!

The first line in this book hooked me and it just kept getting better. The things Noelle and Shep get up to are hilarious! She makes him jealous, tries to let a cow into the house and of course the toys!! When Shep accidentally finds them it’s one of the funniest moments in the book and of course he isn’t scared of using them like teammates!

I really enjoyed this book it’s a perfect read for Christmas time (although I reckon ill read it again during the year if I need a break from smutty smut). There is no third act break up and they communicate with each other properly. I loved that instead of just having an internal freak out he actually manned up and said he didn’t want her to leave!
