So, after reading the Boss Situation I didn’t know how Lyra Parish was going to go with this book……..Well she pretty much went favourite author huh…. hold my beer!
This book has now cemented Lyra as one of my favorite authors of all time! A hot tattooed bodyguard who watches THE GOLDEN GIRLS my excitement levels are through the roof! Brody Calloway is the ultimate book boyfriend!
This book has it all! From steamy smut to nail biting suspense. It will take you on a emotional roller coaster but its sooooo worth it!
The story is about Harper Alexander who is Billie’s BFF from the Boss Situation. (I strongly suggest reading the whole series and not just jumping into this one. In fact, I recommend reading everything Lyra has ever written!)
Harper just wants to be loved, and she ends up with Micah Rhodes who gives me instant ick! Micah is controlling and is trying to isolate Haper from her friends and family. He takes her to Rhode Island but doesn’t really let her know where they are going and takes her phone off her.
Brody is having none of that and steals/borrows Easton’s 1969 Black Dodge Charger (my dream car) and storms off to hunt her down and save her (swoooon). He takes her to his cabin that he hasn’t been to in years because it holds sad memories for him. But its off grid and not connected to anyone so is the perfect place to hide out till the drama blows over.
Brody is delicious he is kind and caring and doesn’t push Harper he just quietly stands beside her and lets her heal until someone tries to harm her then he goes scorched earth and will take down anyone who stands in his way.
Asher and Nick Banks also feature in this book. I had to remember that Nick is Asher’s brother, and Asher is Billie’s ex enemy now fiancé. One day I’ll make a map to keep everyone in line. Zane also makes an appearance he’s Haper’s brother and has his own amazing book Fall I Want!
Asher, Nick and Brody together are 3 serious bad asses, and they go hunt Micah Rhodes. This was a book you can’t do “I’ll just read this chapter” No…..it hooks you in and its totally unputdownable (probably not a word but it is now).
Now I am hanging out for Nick’s story (I hope it’s his story next) this whole series is so freaking good. I don’t know how Lyra is going to top this one!
