Bittersweet – Morgan Elizabeth

Ben is my ultimate book boyfriend!

Do you ever read a book, get to the end and wish you could wipe your memory so you can read it again for the first time. Bittersweet is this book for me.

Lola opens Libby’s bakery on Ocean View boardwalk as a new start and the first thing she has done for herself in forever.

Ben is the owner of the tattoo shop next door (yes im a slut for a tattooed hottie) who is super grumpy about being woken up by the new bakery owner.

These guys have amazing banter and the sexual chemistry is off the charts. Ben assumes that because Lola is a mayor’s daughter, she is a spoilt little rich girl who is using daddys money and rep to open a bakery. This couldn’t be further from the truth (I don’t want to ruin it for you cause i’m not that kinda girl).

Lola is the ultimate people pleaser being in the public eye via her dad she has sort of had to have this persona. But she is slowly starting to grow a backbone and stand up for herself.

When Ben realises that Lola isn’t who he has made her to be in his head, he takes it upon himself to keep her safe even though she drives him insane.

This book has some epic scenes the phone and the charity gala are some of my faves.

Ben is the ultimate bad boy protector but has his own family demon he is fighting. Oh and he’s pierced!! (hmmm food groups!)

But really this book is so well written. Its the last one in a series and an totally be read as a stand-alone. Ben’s brothers story is told in The Subsitution part of the Springbrook Hills series which is also worth a read!
