I’ll Keep Her Safe – Jen Morris

This book is Perfection!!

I was lucky enough to be sent an ARC copy of Ill Keep Her Safe by Jen Morris. And boy did it hit the mark!

Jen is a Kiwi author who I adore I came across her books randomly on Kindle Unlimited (The best way to find authors) and Love in the City was my gateway drug. It’s a kiwi in New York and makes me want to pack my bags and go to New York stat!

Then she wrote Forbidden on Fruit Street and wow just wow a stern brunch daddy and age gap at its finest it’s not ick like some can be!

I’ll Keep Her Safe is the third book in the Forbidden-on Fruit Street series and this is a big call it’s my favourite (I have a deep appreciation for stern brunch daddy Kyle so this is huge for me).

Poppy is Bailey’s BFF and is living with her and her boyfriend to get away from her douche ex. Bailey gives Poppy 3 days’ notice that she is moving to San Fran. Poor Poppy has to find somewhere to live. Bailey suggests she moves in with her dad Wyatt.

Wyatt is a tattooed, bike riding, landscaper (hmm food groups) and has been painted as the bad guy in Bailey’s life. He has a successful landscaping company and has a plot in the community garden.

Of course, looks and reputation can be deceiving Poppy has heard one side of Wyatts story and it doesn’t really gel with what she is seeing while living with him and seeing his interactions with others.

Poppy’s boyfriend is a stalkery little douche bag and causes trouble for her. Just when she thinks she is getting her life back on track and things start looking up. Douche bag strikes and she is once again knocked down. Emotional abuse is something that can be really heavy in a book, but this handled well and well written.

When Wyatt and Poppy get together it’s amazing. I love it when the main characters finally stop fighting their attraction and act on it! Wyatt is so hot and the dirty dirty mouth on him!!

Bailey finds out about Wyatt and Poppy and is a bit of a dick to Poppy about it. As a so-called bestie I think she can do better! But I adore the fact that Daisy is in this book, and it ties in Daisy & Wes and Violet & Kyle. I also love how all the female characters are named after flowers.

Another amazing thing about this book that may be weird for some is that it’s mentioned that Poppy gets her period and is taken out by cramps. Yes, this is a common thing that happens to most women every month and is hardly ever mentioned in books. It makes the book more believable.

Seriously everything I have read by Jen Morris has been amazing. Her books are so well written, and she handles some subjects with such delicacy and care.

These books deserve to be added to your TBR today!
